Job Title: Project Manager

SUMMARY
Customs Border Patrol (CBP) has a global presence with connectivity to approximately 1300 field sites as well as Other Government Agencies (OGAs) and trade partners. CBP conducts operations in 22 countries, 328 ports of entry, 129 border patrol stations within 22 sectors, and 75 AMO locations. To support its mission, CBP needs a robust, resilient, and high performing enterprise network and supporting services throughout its global footprint. The Network Services Division within the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations Directorate (EIOD) provides network services and oversight of the CBP enterprise network infrastructure and comprises the Network Architecture and Engineering Division (NAED) and Network Operations Division (NOD).
Working with an enterprise network architecture and engineering team supporting our Federal customer, the Technical Project Manager supports projects to upgrade and modernize a Wide Area Network (WAN) communications infrastructure supporting over 1,200 field sites and multiple Program Directorates on the Enterprise Network Architecture and Engineering Support Services (ENAESS) program.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and direction in the cost, schedule, and risk management of all IT projects within ENAESS program.
Ensure that all sites are designed and implemented with redundant network capabilities for every field office, document a coop plan as part of the Disaster Recovery Program at CBP.
Sign off on design for the cabling infrastructure schematics for new and existing offices, and procure servers, PCs, printers, and other peripherals for Local Area Network.
Serve as the point of contact representing CBP (OBP, OAM, OFO, OPR, OIT and others, the trade, and other private sector organizations to provide network connectivity to CBP and other DHS applications.
Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, company management and departmental clients. Assists in internal training programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
Clearance requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen with an active clearance.
Clearance Preference:
CBP Full BI - 1st priority
Any DHS badge DoD Top Secret - 2nd choice
DoD Top Secret willingness to get CBP clearance - 3rd choice (it can take 45 days to 6 months to obtain a CBP clearance – work can only begin once the clearance is fully adjudicated)
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT Systems, or other related discipline. Education may be substituted with 4 additional years of relevant experience.
At least 8 years of network engineering experience of Medium to Large WAN network experience.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
Strong experience in acquisition management, system life cycle management, business case development and justification, and security management for Customs & Border.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
PMP certification preferred.
